Psalm 95: 1-2
Come, let us sing for joy to the Lord;
let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation.
Let us come before him with thanksgiving
and extol him with music and song.
From the very beginning, music has been a part of worship.  At CKPres we strive to honor both traditional and contemporary styles, featuring a ‘blended’ approach to music on Sunday mornings.  Our music staff has a broad range of experience and training from the very classical to playing in a well-known 90’s pop band!
Whatever the style, the goal is the same: to lead worshipers in expressing their true devotion to God and to allow God to speak and move our hearts as we worship him.  Below are some of the ways to get involved in music as CKPres.

The singing enveloped me. It was furry and resonant, coming from everyone’s very heart. There was no sense of performance or judgment, only that the music was breath and food. Somehow the singing wore down all the boundaries and distinctions that kept me isolated. Sitting there, standing with them to sing, I felt bigger than myself, like I was being taken care of… coming back to life.

Chancel Choir
The CKPres Chancel Choir is open to all singers!  This non-audition choir sings a variety of styles of music, including traditional spirituals, contemporary songs and classical repetoire. Rehearsals are every Wednesday at 7pm. Feel free to drop in! Childcare is available.
Praise Band
Led by Dax Baumgartner, our Praise Band helps lead the congregation through a meaningful worship experience each Sunday.  They provide a contemporary flair by playing songs both old and new. If you have experience playing instruments or enjoy singing songs of Praise and Worship,  then this may be the opportunity for you!
